Class Descriptions
Domestic Automotive
This class covers domestic lock identification, lock removal, service procedures and more. Starting from 1994, an in depth instruction with all variations of GM 10 Cut ignitions, Ford 8 and 10-Cut systems, and Chrysler 7 & 8-Cut systems. Instruction and use of proper tools including force tools, ignition picks, Vats interrogators and many other tools of the trade. Hands on usage of some tools. Basic transponder programming overview of GM, Ford and Chrysler included. Basic knowledge of domestic auto up to 1994 including GM 6-Cut lock systems, Ford & Chrysler pin tumbler systems is recommended
Introduction of High Security Automotive

High security continues to become more lucrative from year to year. This course includes the basics of high-security key systems, key cutting equipment, key generation and lock servicing. The course will include the most popular High-security makes including Mercedes, BMW, Honda, Kia, Hyundai, VW/Audi/Porsche, Lexus, Saab and Volvo. Hands On key generation and lock disassembly with HONDA, LEXUS, and VW. Students must have experience in domestic and import auto service, key generation and lock removal & repair.

Transponders

Keep up with the ever-changing world of transponders. This class covers Transponder systems made since 1996, programming procedures, key blanks, and tools for most transponder-equipped vehicles in North America. This will include the newest procedures and key blanks for the newest models. Learn about the CAN Systems and new PROX systems as well as laptop based programming options for some vehicles.  Includes information on programming and troubleshooting: GM, Ford, Chrysler, Honda, Toyota, Mazda, Nissan, Mitsubishi, and VW/Audi.

Key Generation

This course offers the student an exciting opportunity to learn the skills needed to generate an automotive key. This extended hands-on use includes a wide variety of tools that will enable the student to experience success and gain confidence. Learn to sight-read keys, use scopes to read wafers, impression, use of Determinators, tryout keys, UV lamps, progressioning, keys by code and much, much more! This course is recommended for the locksmith who wishes to expand into automotive locksmithing, or learn how to better exploit their key generation skills.

Electronic Safe Lock Servicing

Students will learn the proper terminology, combination changing, lock programming, lock features, reset methods, drill points and proper use of each lock covered in this course. Locks covered include: La Gard 33E, La Gard Swingbolt, S&G 6120 Series, Kaba Mas LCLX series formerly the B52. Other locks from several different manufacturers will be on display as well. Correct use and drill points for Lockmasters' SPIKEMASTER II.

Electronic Safe Drilling and Bypass
Learn to open and defeat modern electronic safe locks. This hands-on course will cover spiking, drilling and other defeats for today's most popular electronic locks including those from LA GARD, KABA MAS and SARGENT & GREENLEAF. Students will be opening and drilling locks in class and learning special opening techniques for a variety of electronic safe locks.

The following is a short bio on our qualified seminar staff; many considered industry experts in their field of endeavor.

Jeff Cooper

In the automotive trade for nearly three decades, Jeff brings a wealth of knowledge to the seminar staff. One of the first ASE Certified Parts Specialists, Jeff owned and operated an automotive parts store in Atlanta. Jeff is currently the Locksmith/Automotive Product Manager for Lockmasters and owns Jeff's Lock & Key, in Kentucky. Jeff's vast automotive locksmithing experience includes high-security automotive, transponders and remotes. His meticulous and detailed nature makes him a perfect asset to lead the PUREAUTO seminar team.

Randy Mize

With 33 years as an automotive locksmith, Randy has made transponders and high-security his priority. He is also a consultant to aftermarket tool manufacturers and O.E. automobile manufacturers. Randy is responsible for many innovations in Automotive Locksmithing, and is currently working on developing new tools and software for the industry. He is the inventor of the Lockmasters' High-Security Flip Pick and the Mercedes Drill Template.

Steve Young

Steve is often referred to as "The World's Leading Authority on Car Opening", which his Quick Entry Car Opening Manuals can attest to. Steve has built his reputation by providing accurate and reliable car opening information to the public for years. He has personally disassembled hundreds of door panels to guarantee you that each opening method is the easiest and safest way to gain entry.

David Taylor

A valuable member of the seminar team, David's family has owned and operated a locksmithing business for over 70 years, with David being the sole owner for the last eight years. He has 26 years experience with all aspects of locksmithing, with his specialty being automotive locksmithing.

Ryan Taylor

Ryan brings a strong background in electronic and mechanical systems. His knowledge of safe tools, safe locks and safe deposit locks make him a perfect addition to our staff. He has received extensive hands-on time in the field as well as in the classroom. Ryan is the Combination Lock Manipulation and Electronic Safe Lock Drilling and Bypass instructor.
